I first came to photography through birth photography! While I’ve always had an immense interest in photography, I never knew how it would fit into my life and wasn’t sure about investing the time and money to learn. But after being a doula for several years and witnessing the raw beauty and power of birth over and over and realizing the importance of capturing these incredible moments for families, I finally bit the bullet and dove in and haven’t looked back!

Through my last several years of honing my photography skills, I have grown to love a style that is raw and a little moody. I LOVE documentary style photography. I want to capture these moments, in birth and postpartum, just as they are - messy, beautiful, and real! I believe this is the most beautiful part to look back on. You want to remember those moments just as they were and seeing all the small details will have you reflecting on those beautiful moments for the rest of your life.

While I love a good darker, moody style to my photos, I love to let a gallery unfold and style it to match the vibe of the scene I am documenting.

What I love about birth and newborn photography is that I am capturing moments a family will reflect back on for the rest of their lives! These photos only gain more and more value with time and that is so beautiful to me! As a mom of 3, I know just how valuable and fleeting these moments are, in birth and postpartum. It is hard to see at the time how much these photos will mean to you, but later on the value of these photos to help you process and reflect on your own power, strength, and transformation cannot be understated.
